Dot gov

This isn’t .gov.
Real federal websites use .gov or .mil. This one doesn’t — it’s built by Bentley, while awesome, he is not the government.

About GovTok

GovTok is an independent, open-source tool that helps people submit unique public comments to the official record. It isn’t a campaign, PAC, or dark-money project — just a civic hack built by one engineer who really hates Trump and wanted to make participation faster, funnier, and harder to ignore.

What it does

How it works

  1. Pick a role, tone, and issue angle.
  2. Add a personal line (what makes it yours).
  3. Copy → paste → submit via GovTok or directly on Regulations.gov.

Anonymous submission is supported on the official site.

Why it exists

Roadless protections matter. More roads mean higher fire risk, polluted headwaters, expensive maintenance, and fragmented wildlife habitat. Intact forests keep water clean, support resilient ecosystems, and save taxpayers money. GovTok makes it easy for anyone to weigh in without spending an hour drafting from scratch.

Open source

GovTok is fully open source. Anyone can audit the code, suggest fixes, or contribute features. Transparency is the point — you don’t have to take our word for it.

FAQ

Are comments public?
Yes. Once processed by the agency, they appear in the public docket. Don’t include personal info you don’t want public.
Is this a petition?
No. Each submission is an individual comment on the official portal. GovTok just speeds up drafting.
Who’s behind this?
One person. No PAC, no campaign, no funding stream. Just someone who wanted to use code for civic trolling and to make public comment easier. Questions? DM @BentleyHensel or use the contact page.
Do I have to use GovTok?
No. GovTok is optional. Link directly to Regulations.gov if you prefer. The only thing that matters is more people commenting.
